Frank Skinner and the sewing machine...

tuesday....lovely sunny tuesday...i've spent all  morning sewing for the Clutter City Spring Soiree this Saturday...

when i'm sewing i love listening to Frank Skinner podcasts (and it's got to be Adam and Joe from BBC 6Music podcasts when decorating)...they just make me smile and i have a ritual of listening to each one twice because i usually miss small bits whilst sewing...so twice seems to cover the whole lot!!!  don't ask..it just makes me happy...

loving the camp mountaineer man with his hand on his hip!!!

a sea of crochet...

and a few pics from a play in the park on sunday

it just didn't happen today...

today was full of promise...

then it all went pear shaped, i was going to have a full day of 'making' for the craft fair next saturday...the first thing that happened was i made a very wonky bag!  it was measured and pinned but it ended up looking like pants...not literally...but just a bit rubbish...so i left bags aside and decided to whip up a crochet hook case type thing - now i have made these before, so i thought i would make one to get back on track...and this ended up a bit crap too...whats going on today????

so i packaged up some wrist warmer type things which i made lots of for the winter craft fair...now i know it's spring and it's all sunny...but i can't stop making these and maybe someone there will want to start their christmas shopping early...

maybe a little rest is needed...and who knows what tonight will bring and what wonders can be made while watching friday night television....

have a good weekend...

hopefully by next saturday some of this wool...and this bundle of fabric will be something quite different...and on our stall at Clutter City...

what a lovely day...

a couple of pics from my walk home from school this morning - the birds were singing and the sun was shining and i suddenly felt very over-dressed in my winter coat and wooly hat...

Hama-tastic

my weekend in pictures...

well, i might add a bit of writing too....it's not my style to keep quiet...

saturday morning porridge...it's tradition in our house to write something on the porridge in honey...the boys always want 'smelly daddy' writing on theirs and Miss T goes for a flower....

then...time for a junk session...about an hour and a half after this picture....

we were ready for blast off!

Head of Finance gets productive with a good old IKEA flat pack...

i love this picture in the instruction booklet...it's like "hey, don't assemble your flat pack alone....get a friend to join in with the stress and arguments"

friday tie-day (!)

hooray it's friday...i love that friday feeling...

today is Red Nose Day here, so the small people have all gone off to school with their red noses and money to give to comic relief...

and at home i've been doing a spot of crocheting - i haven't made all these today...i'm not that good....but i have been putting these cushions together ready for the craft fair...

a while ago i mentioned Hama beads...we love them! our house is full of little Hama bead works of art - so many that i have decided to finish each post with one...my daughter made this when she was 3, and i just love that she did it nearly all green but chose to put 2 brown Hama beads on the girls dress...

i found it in a charity shop for £1.50 - dated 1976...so this is what was going on when i was 2 years old!!

anyone for a spot of gardening??

i love this girls room - especially the lamp and wallpaper...but were beds really that pointy back  in the 70's?

and i do actually really, really love these cushions

what a great book
