The Dandelion Clock....

a couple of weekends ago we headed north...to Sheffield to spend a weekend catching up with friends and family...Head of Finance is from that neck of the woods, so we have some good friends still there and family too...every once in a while we head up and try and catch up with as many people as we can...

this time we spent a good hour in a lovely florest shop called The Dandelion Clock owned by our friend Lucy...

lists....lists...and more....lists...

now i am a huge fan of 'the list'...it makes sense of everything and i find it quite rewarding ticking off items on lists...and i must admit that i have sometimes written things on the bottom of a list that i have already done...just to tick off....

but the list i have going on at the moment...is the mother of all lists...the list to end all lists...it's our 'we are going to Australia for a month in 13 days time' list...and let me tell you...it even has sub-lists...

we sat down last night and wrote down exactly what we need to do in the next 2 weeks...and let me tell you, i am feeling quite overwhelmed today at the enormity of it...

we assigned tasks for both of us to do...and i laughed at Head of Finance for putting "Caroline to launder all holiday clothes", "make a list of stuff we need to take", and "Caroline to buy stuff on the list we haven't got"...now is it me or does that mean i'm doing it all?!?!

all said and done...it so blooming exciting...

autumn love....ish....

well...hasn't it been a while since i have been on here....

my excuse is...pure busyness...

oh and....

*  a son who tripped up the doorstep and ended up having his head injury glued at the walk-in centre

*  a daughter who sliced her toe in the sand in the park...probably on a piece of glass

*  a husband who was driven into while driving to work...

and the best of all...

* a son who jumped off a swing in the park...dislocated his left elbow and ended up in theatre that night to straighten it and was in plaster for nearly 4 weeks....

those who know me well will say this is just a normal few weeks activity for us lot!!!

here is a before and after shot of a cupboard we found in a local antique place (posh charity shop actually...but i wouldn't tell the owners that)....it was priced at £90 and the guy said we could have it for £40 if we took it away that day...to be honest it did stick out a mile...and we did have grand plans for it...as you can see...it is now wearing a Farrow & Ball jacket and looks rather nice....

i have been doing a spot of crochet too recently...a few hats to sell at the Christmas Craft Fair...we won't be here this Christmas but thats a whole other post...so thats why i am trying to get stock built up now for my friend who is going to man my stall...

(couldn't help but do a pretty pumpkin!!!!)

and my 2 little bobbinoggs turned 5 on Saturday...birthday craziness...and big smiles!!!

Kermit looks how i felt at the end of last weekend...
