friday...hooray...

i just wanted to share a recent charity shop find...3 lovely napkins with beautiful embroidered corners...

all 3 for £1.75...bargain...

and last night i set to with a little idea...

and tah-dah...i made this little sewing/crochet case thingy-me-bob...

it still needs a bit of fine-tuning...but i think it's not half bad for a Thursday night!!!

and on to something completely different...(here comes weather watch again...) with it peeing down rather a lot at the moment here, i had a look through my photos and remembered days we spent on holiday in Wales with good friends, in 2009 and 2010...it rained probably everyday at some point...tho we did get some beach trips in(!)...we just got wellies and rain coats and off we went...

i have blogged about this amazing barn conversion set in the middle of nowhere in the Welsh countryside in my early blog days...but i thought a 2nd round of photos was allowed because i have such fond memories of the days spent here...there is something quite special about staying somewhere with no electricity...love it...

these were 4 sky lanterns we lit one night...

very happy days...

have a good weekend folks

he's back...

Mr Inspiration decided to return...and in fine style...after a morning at Dressmaking Class with the lovely sarah i came home and decided to take the bull by the horns and go for it...what do you think:

i bought this chair about a year ago, from the Salvation Army Shop and it's been sitting waiting for some inspiration to come along and turn it into something a bit 'nicer'...i asked Head of Finance what he thought i could do to make it look a bit 'better'...he said "i don't care as long as you make it look like it doesn't belong in an old folks home and smells of wee"...nice eh...

and then i rememberd i had this book...and there...on  the front...was the picture i had been waiting for...so i headed for the sewing machine this afty...

and here it is so far...

the fabric i made the cushions out of is green and white stripe - this doesn't really show on this picture, but it's a lovely green and heavy weight...and i got it for a snip off ebay...a whole roll of it...i just need to put some funky fabric on the bit under the cushions - this will need a staple gun i think...

i'm really pleased with the re-vamp..and i guess in about 40 minutes when the little people come home from school and start chucking the cushions around the room, it will bring a smile to my face as an old piece of furniture comes back to life...
