Mr Inspiration decided to return...and in fine style...after a morning at Dressmaking Class with the lovely sarah i came home and decided to take the bull by the horns and go for it...what do you think:
i bought this chair about a year ago, from the Salvation Army Shop and it's been sitting waiting for some inspiration to come along and turn it into something a bit 'nicer'...i asked Head of Finance what he thought i could do to make it look a bit 'better'...he said "i don't care as long as you make it look like it doesn't belong in an old folks home and smells of wee"...nice eh...
and then i rememberd i had this book...and there...on the front...was the picture i had been waiting for...so i headed for the sewing machine this afty...
and here it is so far...
the fabric i made the cushions out of is green and white stripe - this doesn't really show on this picture, but it's a lovely green and heavy weight...and i got it for a snip off ebay...a whole roll of it...i just need to put some funky fabric on the bit under the cushions - this will need a staple gun i think...
i'm really pleased with the re-vamp..and i guess in about 40 minutes when the little people come home from school and start chucking the cushions around the room, it will bring a smile to my face as an old piece of furniture comes back to life...
Fantastico!!!
