adventure shoes...

remember these:

well...these gorgeous little red shoes went on quite a few adventures, they climbed trees, were filled with sand in the park...survived quite a few puddle jumping sessions, were worn around the house for many hours because "i need to put my school uniform on"...weeks before school started!  and now, the time has come for them to retire and be replaced by another pair of bobby dazzler shoes ready for new adventures...(fyi...these shoes lasted for 3 months!!!!!)

so long gorgeous red shoes...

melting sunday...

the little Miss T and myself decided to make some new crayons on sunday...by melting old 'tired' crayons we made some new bobby dazzlers...

there is something quite satisfying about sitting and peeling the paper off crayons!!!

Tuesday 20 March 2012

Monday oh Monday...

before i start...yes i know it's tuesday today...but lets continue...

picture this...monday morning...7:28am...finger ready to press send to an email about this rather superb little workshop coming up in July

7:29...eldest son shouts through that he needs help with something in the lounge...so i run through, help him (with the volume on the remote!!!!) and fly back through to the kitchen to find that it's 7:30 and a bit...i press send and then convince myself that all the places must have gone because i didn't press send at 7:30 precisely...

so i do the school run, pick up a few bits from the post office, do the weekly food shop and come home to check emails...

and there...before my very eyes is an email say YES!

i had to read, re-read and then read again because i just couldn't believe it...

i booked 2 places, so the wonderful Kath from Inverleith and me will be taking ourselves off for a road trip on July 1st to meet Tiff and Rachelle (aka dottie angel and ted and agnes)...and let me tell you...i just CAN'T WAIT...

rose tinted specs at the ready...

a granny a day...

i found this today over at meet me at mikes and thought....'hell yeah...why not' (or something like that)...and i have also seen it over at inverleith Kath is doing a grand job so far...so...i'm going to get on board this granny train and see where she takes me...anyone else care to join??

all things spring...

this is what i made this morning...ta-dah...some lovely springy inspired (daffodily yellow) bunting...

not sure where this is destined for yet...Etsy? (if i ever actually sort out my shop)...

Monday 12 March 2012

sunshine and ladder brackets...

as part of sorting out all my bits and bobs in the spare/craft/ironing room i needed to move some rolls of fabric i have to make way for the bobby dazzling shelves (which are slowly filling up) and i didn't know where to stash these rolls....so...ladder brackets of course, they can then be filed out the way until i need to use them...

but ladder brackets aren't the most gorgeous looking of items are they....well...not until...

ta-dah...amazing what you can do with a bit of PVA and some fabric scraps!!  even Head of Finance said "they look amazing" because before he said they looked "too industrial"...next job is to put them up....

spring is in the air...

Wednesday 7 March 2012

the big reveal...

here she is...in all her glory...

i finished painting her last night, and got so carried away, when i came down for breakfast this morning i saw that i had left the paintbrush, full of gloss resting on a piece of cardboard on the floor! i have never, in all my painting days, done that...tut tut

this is where she will see out her days...next to the fireplace in the spare room...if i did a 180 turn with my camera you would see a double bed with 2 clothes airers on full of school uniform and sports kits!!! - i think my side of the spare room is much nicer on the eyes...don't you agree??

Monday 5 March 2012

rainy days...doing days...

so it's peeing down today....

and has been since yesterday morning and it's also quite chilly....the type of chill to give  you brain freeze...i'm not going to waffle on about the weather too much tho...because it is what it is and we can't change that...so just buy a decent rain coat and get on with life eh?!?

but on days like this it's nice to have a project on the go...

and my latest is to transform this bookcase (rescued from a neighbours garden in the snow) which really is just a shambles of odd bits of wood very roughly put together and holding on tight by a wing and a prayer...to something a bit more....well, a bit more of bobby dazzling!

with the help of my trusty friends Mr Farrow and Mr Ball...

hopefully in a day or two and after a couple more undercoats, the poor sorry bookcase will be wearing a new jacket...

and then....

i bought this old wallpaper off Ebay (it smells really old so it must be!!!!!) and i was thinking of putting it down the back of the shelves (because you can actually see daylight through them at the mo...as you can see in the pic)

and after that, i will carry the whole thing back upstairs and plonk it in my crafty room and pop lots of useful bits and bobs on it's shelves and there it will live happily ever after...

The End
