pattern lovely pattern

last weekend i went to London with my 2 best friends, and we pootled around Greenwich Market, nattering and catching up, and generally having a nice day out - i don't see these 2 friends as much as i would like to...we met here in Norwich at the Art School (and as i text them both the other day...that was 17 years ago)...after our course had finished they went back to their home towns and i stayed in Norwich...so when we meet up, it's always a special time and i think we all come away feeling very inspired by all things creative and just having like-minded people to bounce ideas off is fab and refreshing...

another bonus of this particular trip was a belated b'day pressie i needed to pick up...and what a bobby dazzler it was:

what a lovely book it is...(so much so, even Head of Finance spent 10 minutes looking through it...)

so heres to friends and belated b'days... XXX

have a super dooper weekend...

time for autumn

so..Miss T and Mr R have now started school full time....they did 2 weeks of  piddling about (2 mornings each week) and now it's down to the business of full days...it's only tuesday but last night Miss T went to bed saying "i can't wait to go to school tomorrow"...good stuff.  I decided to have them in separate reception classes...just to give them both a chance to grow their own little personalities and not be lumped together as 'the twins'...i thought they might miss eachother yesterday, but spent our walk to the park after school boasting about what they had both done in their separate classes...this then led to an argument because Mr R had made a 'bug type head dress thingy-ma-jig' and Miss T insisted that she made one as soon as we got home...happy days eh!!!

i do love autumn...and winter, i like dark evenings, hair curling drizzle, wellies, hats, scarves and gloves...i love, love, love hats and can't wait to start wearing my woollies!!

a bit of granny square-tastic crochet and stripes

indeed it does!!!

it must be clutter city time again...

many,  many late nights and public crocheting sessions...and i'm nearly ready for the clutter city autumn fair tomorrow...

...the pom pom rug is finished...backed and edged and wearing a fancy little 'gran plumley' label...i have put a price tag of £60 on my rug...what does everyone think of this price????

with everything packed up and ready to go to market (!) it's now time for a cuppa and a sit down i think...

green heaven....

well...we're back from our fantastic house swap with our friends in Hampton...it was a lovely holiday, and great to stay in unfamiliar yet familiar surroundings!

warning...this post is a bit 'green photo' heavy due to 2 brilliant trips to Kew Gardens...

let the green commence...

phew...all that green...just lovely!!

while we were away i managed to finish my pompom rug (pic to follow) in readiness for the Clutter City Craft Fair this Saturday...

and i've managed (inbetween cake making...park trips...mirangue making...hama beading...cooking dinner/tea/snacks...catching up with friends...food shopping etc etc etc) to make some lovely cushions for Saturday...again pics to follow

just a thought:

i'm always amazed when i'm in bed at night and i think about the day just gone and how much i have squeezed in...it's important to me to have a bit of time to do what i like in the evenings, and with the small people on holiday and going to bed a little later these days, i can often be found sat in bed crocheting at midnight and beyond...(ever the romantic eh?!)
