elastic bands and beads...

a couple of weekends ago we decided to make new duvet covers...not just any old duvet cover...but tie-dye duvet covers!!!

using beads and elastic bands, we spent ages helping the little people put their bands on tight enough and making sure they had loads of elastic bands on their duvet covers and pillow cases so that it would look amazing when it came out of the washing machine...

here is Miss T sat on her duvet cover...they have gone down a treat - the best part for me was watching their faces as the white duvet covers turned purple/blue and green in the washing machine....they thought it was truely magic...

cheeky chuck...

...on sunday we went to visit some friends who live in a beautiful part of Norfolk in the middle of nowhere...we fed the chucks, gave the horses a tickle, ran around the gardens and chased the dogs...lovely...i'm a city girl, but every now and then it's good to get out and have some fun in the country...

it's dated 1975 (i was 1 then!)...

just keep walking...

tomorrow night i will take to the streets of London to walk 26.2 miles...wearing this bra:

along with thousands of others we'll be walking to raise money for Breast Cancer Awareness...
i've spent this morning packing my bag and tried to cram the most ridiculous amount of stuff into a bumbag (including a pot of nuts...a pot of jelly babies, various cereal bars, vaseline, tissues etc etc) and i'm kind of feeling ready for this challenge...i had an early(ish) night last night, and woke up at 11:45 to go to the loo and thought..."oh my word...in 2 days i will be just getting ready to walk 26.2 miles at this time of night"...aaaaaaargh

we were sent a bra through the post and asked to decorate it up for the walk...me and my friends chose a nice floral theme...

so heres to a lovely weekend and good luck to all you Moonwalkers out there

garden pootling...

yesterday we pootled in our garden...it's a tiny garden and yesterday i realised that everytime we move house, our gardens get smaller! when me and Head of Finance decided to rent our first place together, the garden we were faced with was absolutely HUGE...it had 2 big lawns, a massive veg patch and an orchard (forest) area...too big for us really, all we wanted to do was go out and have fun...

our next house was in the city and it had a small, but fair size garden, no grass, but perfect for pot plants and sitting out with friends...

we moved into this house, never knowing if we could have children, so the garden didn't really matter, we loved the house and that was that...a few years down the line...here we are with 3 children and a tiny weeny garden...but we make the most of what we have, and we are very lucky here in Norwich we certainly have some lovely parks...

so yesterday we planted Rocket ("not the blast-off type") and Radishes and Toms, and Peppers and some flowers too...heres hoping our tiny weeny garden blooms...
